How my story relates to my services

I enjoy helping people find accessible and flexible tools for self regulation in everyday situations.

Increasing the time I spend in a regulated state has been a priority for me since I started my journey of recovery 19 years ago.

I have found it essential to develop an understanding of my nervous system and how it functions. This has been critical to tolerating the sensory experience of being human, as well as being neuro-divergent.

My journey and passion for understanding nervous system regulation techniques has been taken to a new depth as I parent an Autistic and ADHD child.

I believe that a regulated mind-body union occurs in relationships with others. When you feel seen, heard, and celebrated for who you are in that moment, you experience a confidence in yourself and a sense of worthiness in life.

The founder of the action method psychodrama, J.L. Moreno, believed that many of our psychological wounds stem from interactions that we have had in relationship to other people. As a result, the path to wellness involves repairs that occur in relationship to others. This is the perspective from which I approach my work with clients.

I a mother within a queer family system and the daughter of a gay, genderqueer father, It is paramount to me that queer families have a place in mainstream society, receive greater equity, and are celebrated at every milestone of their journeys.

I aim to promote a culture of celebration and affirmation for every individual.

My hope is for this attitude to be infused into the various systems that shape our society on a daily basis.

May we all experience a sense of worthiness, celebration, and affirmation within our world, workplaces, healthcare systems, educational institutions, and families.

I started my educational pursuits focused on macro level healing with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Urban Studies from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN.

During my studies I was struck by a quote from Mother Theresa in which she said, “What can you do to promote world peace? Go home and love your family”.

I realized that I have an opportunity to greatly impact communities by focusing care on individuals. As a result, I went on to pursue a Masters of Arts in Counseling from Southwestern College in Santa Fe, NM.

I have since held a mental health license in the state of New Mexico since 2011.
